The College of Management of Asia University has been awarded the EMI promotion project grants from the Ministry of Education for three consecutive years. In her welcome speech, Dean of the College of Management, Dr. Chen Ming-Huei pointed out that the theme of this conference is "Building a Bridge of Language and Culture through Technology." She also highlighted that this conference marked a significant milestone in our ongoing journey to explore the intersection of language, culture, and technology in the realm of education. With the theme "Bridging Language and Culture through Technology," we aim to explore the synergies between EMI and AI by focusing on enhancing language and education through innovative technologies such as ChatGPT and open AI.
Dr. Chester Hsieh opened the keynote sessions with a compelling presentation on using large language models, such as ChatGPT and Bard, to enhance EMI teaching. Following Dr. Hsieh, Dr. Chandan Kumar delved into the prospects of AI integration in language education, identifying emerging trends and technologies. Dr. Irma Savitri Sadikin offered insights into ChatGPT's impact on language prowess and academic achievement in EMI education. Dr. Ria Saraswati explored the challenges and successes of translating Indonesian cultural terminologies using ChatGPT.
